What's WCM? WCM stands for Wide Gauge, DC traction, Mixed type (means suitable for both goods and passenger service). Now what's DC traction? This is type of traction where locomotives get power from tracks of railway lines. Often we refer it as third rail where for power there is a dedicated line from which locos get power, although no longer used in India, it was used in regions near and in Mumbai in the 20th century. Now there, all tracks are converted into AC traction(discussed later). Next Series would be of WCM!
